★ Riso Foundation: Private Workshop ★

This is a private risograph workshop for individuals and groups of up to 3. Each workshop lasts for about 2 - 3 hours.
Risograph printing produces vibrant and practical print ephemera that is creatively invigorating and can serve as a nice way to balance all things virtual. Our workshops provide a primer on all the aspects of risograph printing and how to print a duotone design from start to finish. We also spend some time sharing our inspiration library full of risograph printed items and talking about the many ways to utilize risograph printing.

Each participant will design and/or personalize their own print or stationery. You can brainstorm at home and then create your designs in the studio, or bring in artwork to format for print!

By the end of the workshop, you will go home with one of the following:

  • 30 copies of an 11x17” 2-color print

  • 30 copies of a 4x6” or 5x7” 2-color postcard

All supplies are included, though we strongly recommend bringing your laptop.

  • This is a private risograph workshop for individuals and groups of up to 3 looking for a more tailored session. It’s suitable for beginners with little or no experience but we can also adjust the workshop for intermediate and advanced printmakers. Having an Art & Design background is not required, but we will be briefly covering how to use the Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator) to set up your files. 

  • Our risograph foundation workshop provides a primer on all foundational elements of risograph printing and an introduction to print/bookmaking. During the workshop, we will cover how risograph printers work, how the inks interact to create an image, how to digitally set up a file to print, and finally, how to print using a risograph.

  • To prioritize the safety and health of all individuals, we will work accordingly with the group to create a suitable Masking guideline. Please note that we may require all participants and instructors to mask. We have a supply of surgical masks, KN-95 and N95 masks available in the studio but encourage participants to bring their own masks. We are happy to answer any health & safety questions, requests, or concerns via email.

  • We can accommodate rescheduling with 48 hours' notice. Unfortunately, we do not provide refunds for cancellations/rescheduling beyond this time frame and cannot promise an accommodating rescheduled date. 5% of the total cost will be deducted for all qualified cancellations to cover transaction fees.
